Anthony Welfare, who previously served as an adviser for Ripple’s central bank digital currency initiatives, believes the XRP Ledger possesses the necessary infrastructure to handle the demands of global finance. In recent comments, he emphasized that the network is technically capable of supporting massive scale operations and facilitating seamless cross border payments for major banking institutions worldwide.

However, Welfare offered a sobering reminder to investors by noting that technical superiority does not always translate into market success. While the plumbing of the system may be ready for prime time, he cautioned that having a functional product is not a magic wand for institutional adoption. The gap between possessing a tool and getting traditional banks to actually implement it remains significant.

Crucially, Welfare pointed out that this distinction creates a disconnect between utility and valuation. Even if the technology proves itself indispensable for movement of capital, it does not provide an automatic guarantee that the price of XRP will climb. Market dynamics often behave independently of technical milestones, leaving traders to navigate a complex landscape where efficiency doesn’t always equal profit.
